Quick steak pizzaiola

Quick steak pizzaiola 

Serves 4

15 minutes to make 

20 minutes to cook 




1tbsp olive oil

2 sirloin steaks

good glug extra virgin olive oil

2 cloves garlic, finely sliced

4 anchovies, chopped

600g vine tomatoes, roughly chopped or a 400g tin of of chopped tomatoes

1tsp red wine vinegar

few sprigs oregano, or thyme leave stripped

1tbsp capers, drained and rinsed

large handful rocket leaves

parmesan shavings to serve


  1. Rub oil all over the steaks and season them.. Heat a heavy based pan over a high heat and fry temp for 1-2 minutes each side then set aside to rest. 
  2. Heat the extra virgin olive oil very gently in a pan and add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds then add the anchovies, tomatoes, vinegar, oregano and season with sea salt and pepper, cook for about 15 minutes until the tomatoes are softened and starting to break down. 
  3. Spoon the tomato onto warmed plates, top with some rocket, slices of the steak and parmesan shavings. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and serve with crusty bread.
