A lean, fine-grained roasting joint with plenty of character and rich venison flavour, Venison Haunch makes an excellent alternative centrepiece for the Christmas table.
Cut from a single muscle in the hind leg and carefully prepared by our butchers, the haunch has a texture similar to rump or topside of beef. Sear before roasting until caramelised on the outside and blushing pink in the centre.
Our venison is sourced exclusively from Downlands Estate, where the deer graze pasture and browse naturally across the estate.
A generous but manageable joint, ideal for smaller Christmas gatherings and entertaining 4–6 people.
