INTRODUCING OUR FIRST REGENERATIVE PORK FARMBOX
We're proud to partner with Fowlescombe Farm for our new Regenerative Pork FarmBox. Set in a secluded South Devon valley between Dartmoor and the coast, Fowlescombe is a regenerative farm built around soil health, biodiversity and high-welfare farming. Livestock is central to the system, helping manage pasture, build fertility and create the conditions for healthier, more diverse land.

MEET THE BREED!
The pigs selected for this FarmBox are bred from Tamworth/Berkshire sows, combining two breeds with complementary qualities. Both are among Britain's oldest recorded pig breeds. Tamworth is naturally lean with rich, red meat, while Berkshire is prized for the flavour of its pork and good fat cover. These regeneratively farmed pigs have spent around eight months growing outdoors, with access to pasture, harvested arable ground, fallen barley and conserved forage alongside their soya-free feed.
As Rosie puts it, “Diversity of input creates depth of flavour.” That combination of breed, time, diet and environment is what makes this pork so special.
"HOW WE RAISED THE PIGS IS a great example of collaboration, creative thinking and regenerative farming working hand in hand."
THE FARM & FARMER
Rosie Ball has managed Fowlescombe Farm in South Devon since 2019, bringing her conservation biology background to a farm that had been organic for over 20 years.
Her practical, regenerative approach looks at how livestock can benefit the wider farming system. When Fowlescombe needed more ground for its growing number of pigs, Rosie found the answer across the road!
Working with a neighbouring arable farmer, she integrated the pigs into his barley rotation. After harvest, they forage on stubble and fallen grain, returning manure and organic matter to the soil before the next crop.
